My passion for the natural world is reflected in most of my paintings and photographs. I often look for the tranquil stillness and the spiritual serenity in a landscape. I recognize that the beauty of God’s natural creation has a healing power. Most of my inspiration comes from magnificent New England landscapes. Also, my lifelong love of gardening gives me a fascination for the shapes, colors and textures found in plants.
Besides painting in watercolor, acrylic and pastel, I have developed an interest in photography. I find the immediacy of the captured image very exciting. Many of my photographs are inspirations for my paintings and I have been told that some of my photographs look like paintings!
I grew up in Baltimore, Maryland. I am a graduate of Syracuse University and have a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts. After college I studied under Beverly Edwards and Anne Haywood at the former Fuller Art Museum in Brockton and under Beverly Rippel at the former Felos Memorial Art Center in Stoughton.
I currently show my work at the Easton Shovel Town Cultural District Co-op Gallery located at 50 Main Street, Building 9, North Easton, MA. I also have my studio in the same building.

In Display Case, Visual Art , Katherine Honey
While my formal training in the arts is limited to a few workshops, painting, photography, and crafts have been a mainstay in my life. In my youth, I embraced oils and dabbled in photography. Later in life, I moved from the forgiving nature of acrylics to the challenge of watercolors.
Like a vacation, painting renews me. Whatever priorities, emotions, and concerns existed before I raise my brush, hours evaporate and I am refreshed and ready to focus on what needs to be done.
Katherine is an avid supporter of the arts. She has organized exhibits and contributes her art work to fundraising efforts. Presently, she is a member of the Attleboro Arts Museum and the Easton Shovel Town Cultural District Art Co-op & Gallery. For more information, contact Katherine at khoney@comcast.net.
