Hey readers!
We hope you’re as excited to join the 2024 Reading Challenge as we are. You can learn more about the challenge from our previous blog post or the challenge website. Each month, we’ll be sharing some suggested titles on our blog, social media channels, and in displays at the library.
January’s challenge is: A book you read years ago that you may feel differently about now
Here are some suggestions from Mass Center for the Book on how you could interpret this challenge:
- A book you read in school that you hated (or didn’t finish)
- A book you read in school that you loved
- A book you were read as a child
- A book that changed your life in some way
- A book you still think about
- A book you read to your children or students
- A political book that may now hold different meaning
- A historical book that may illuminate current events
- A book you find on a shelf that you think you read but can’t remember
- A coming of age novel you read before coming of age
- A book you just couldn’t appreciate until you were older
- A book you had to annotate in school
- A book that got turned into a film or television series that may have changed your opinion or memories of the book
- A book that made you question why it was so popular
- A book you read at a very specific time in your life, maybe around an illness or big event
- A book that made you emotional
